This was the ultimate road test, Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs, Colorado. My father used to race up this mountain in his Alfa. We took it a lot slower!!
ZX2 back home
One year after we bought this car it was T-boned by a crazy woman
with very little common sense. Click here
for the damage pictures. I used to brag on the dealer that did the repair
work (Gary Crossley Ford in Liberty, Mo.) but the car had to be taken back
several times and I am certain that the frame was bent. I used to wear
out right rear tires like crazy after that. I took the car in to replace
the tire that I bought there and was batted back and forth between the
body shop and repair shop. The shop blamed the wreck damage for the tire
wear, but shut up when they realised it was done by their own body shop.
The problem took care of itself when in 2003 we hit a deer going about
60. The ZX2 was a total loss. Fortunatly no one was hurt, except the deer.
I used the insurance money to buy a 95
Ranger and pocketed the rest of the money.
